Project Manager (Transformation)

At Convergence Group, we’ve spent over 20 years quietly powering some of the UK’s most complex networks - and now we’re growing fast. We’re looking for a Transformation Project Manager to take ownership of internal projects delivering impact at pace, helping to steer integrations, transformations, and change that will shape the future of Convergence Group.

What it’s really like here

The pace and intensity are higher than most environments in our sector. The workload is typically around 30% greater than many people will have experienced elsewhere - not because we are chaotic, but because we are ambitious and constantly building. We grow organically and through acquisition, continuously integrating, improving and raising the bar. The landscape evolves, priorities shift, and expectations rise. If you prefer a predictable, static environment, this probably won’t feel comfortable. If you are energised by growth, movement and high standards, it can be deeply rewarding.

Your strengths will have a bigger platform here - and you will be stretched behaviourally more than in most environments. We value respectful honesty: anyone can challenge an idea; hierarchy doesn’t protect thinking and getting it right matters more than being right. Ego doesn’t perform well here; curiosity, learning and ownership do. We hire people who are already strong at their craft - the stretch at Convergence Group is navigating pace, complexity and constant evolution. This environment isn’t for everyone, but for the right person it offers an exceptional opportunity for impact, growth and accelerated development.

What you’ll be doing as our Project Manager

  • Delivering internal transformation projects - lead the full lifecycle of internal projects, ensuring outcomes support wider business goals, keeping workstreams on track, solving problems, and ensuring the right actions happen at the right time.
  • Own the full project lifecycle - Manage multiple projects in a fast-moving environment, leading each project from initiation to handover. You’ll build clear forecasts and plans, manage budgets, and keep delivery on track using tools like Monday.com and methodologies like Waterfall and PRINCE2.
  • Understand our solutions - Develop a strong understanding of LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, SD-WAN, and Security offerings so you can confidently represent our services throughout delivery.
  • Bring people together - Run kick-offs, workshops, and regular project updates ensuring stakeholders stay aligned. You’ll confidently present progress both internally and to customers.
  • Build trusted relationships - Work closely with customers and cross-functional teams, acting as a supportive, insightful advisor who helps steer delivery in the right direction. Manage suppliers including selection, engagement, performance monitoring, and issue resolution
  • Solve problems before they grow - Stay ahead of risks or blockers, handle challenging conversations when needed, and maintain clear documentation including RAID logs, PID’s, SoW’s and action logs sharp to keep projects moving.
  • Maintain governance and control - Follow best-practice processes, uphold governance standards, interpret and validate order forms to ensure alignment with project scope, and manage resources and change requests to keep projects organised and compliant.

What we’re looking for

  • 5+ years’ experience delivering complex infrastructure projects within IT or Telecoms environments.
  • A proven track record of managing multiple internal projects and delivering on time and within budget.
  • Experience with projects delivering WAN and LAN solutions, and ideally knowledge of installations to Datacentres and POP sites.
  • Experience delivering integration projects involving networks, systems, finance and people.
  • Strong understanding of Waterfall, Agile, or hybrid approaches.
  • PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMP, MSP or similar (a bonus, not a must).
  • Experience in project management tools e.g. Monday.com or MS Project and Excel
  • Strong governance and reporting skills – RAID logs, benefits trackers, budgets, SteerCo packs.
  • An understanding of risk, compliance, and regulatory responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to keep stakeholders aligned and manage expectations.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisation and time management.
  • Ability to pass BPSS and other clearance checks.

What you’ll get

  • Salary: £65,000 - £85,000 for experienced A - players.
  • Time off: 33 days holiday including bank holidays.
  • Benefits: Private medical, enhanced pension, income protection & life assurance.
